The BC International Jazz Festival (BCIJF) returns to Nairobi for its 2025 edition, solidifying its status as one of the premier jazz festivals in Sub-Saharan Africa. An annual staple of the region's cultural calendar, the festival is a flagship project of the Bob Collymore Foundation, built on the legacy of honoring the arts, unlocking creative potential, and building a sustainable creative economy. This year, the festival features an extraordinary, curated roster of world-class artists who cross borders to share a single stage. Attendees will experience captivating performances from international heavyweights Moreira Chonguiça (Mozambique), Bega Quartet (Ethiopia), and Stephanie Lottermoser (Germany), alongside the brilliant depth of Kenya's own The Kaima Mwiti Quintet, Judah & The Tribe, the inspiring Ghetto Classics youth orchestra, and the seamless transitions of DJ D-Lite. More than just a musical showcase, the BC International Jazz Festival is a mission-driven event. All proceeds from the festival go directly toward facilitating music education for Kenyan youth through programs like Ghetto Classics, providing young adults with vital access to artistic expression.
